Annual Dessert Dash - Annual Golf and Bowling Banquet

CALLING ALL BAKERS!!!!   

It is time again for the ANNUAL DESSERT DASH at this year’s Annual Golf and Bowling Banquet scheduled for Monday, September 11th.  We need at least 10 volunteers to make or buy a nice dessert that will serve 8 – 10 people.

PURPOSE OF THE DESSERT DASH?

The Dessert Dash raises funds to support the MIAS ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

100% of the proceeds generated by the Dessert Dash go into the MIAS SCHOLARSHIP FUND.  The generous donations received last year contributed over $2.000, toward the Scholarship Fund allowing three scholarships to be presented during the Annual Banquet.

 

HOW THE DESSERT DASH WORKS

1.        Each table will be numbered andwill have an envelope to record and collect the donations.

2.       As soon as you sit down at your Table do the Following:

3          Each guest writes in theirname

4         Write the amount you want to donate next to your name (receipts will be provided at each table)

a.       if paying by Check make payable to Marine Insurance Association of Seattle

b.      if paying by Credit Card, please complete the form with all information requested 

5         Designate a person from your table to be the “Dessert Dasher”

6         Then total the amounts and place donations in the envelope provided for our table

7         The tables will be called in the order of the highest total amount donated

8         When your table number is called, dash to the table with the Desserts and take the dessert of your choice.

What is the MIAS Fellowship?
The MIAS Fellowship is a new educational opportunity, challenge, and designation
sponsored by the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle.

The purpose of the MIAS Fellowship is to encourage MIAS members to develop an in-depth thesis on a marine insurance topic of interest, for the benefit of the association and the marine insurance community.

 

A MIAS member employee who successfully completes the Fellowship requirements will be accorded a professional award and designation of distinction:

Fellow of the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle

 

Interested?

First announced at the 2017 MIAS Annual Banquet in January, the MIAS Fellowship is a new educational challenge and opportunity for the association’s membership. 


Applications are now being accepted through May 1st for the 2017 Fellowship.

Relay for Life - Team MIAS

TEAM MIAS – RELAY FOR LIFE GREEN LAKE 2017

It’s Relay Time!   The Relay For Life of Green Lake is an incredible and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce cancer risks, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease.  Please consider supporting Team MIAS by participating in or providing donations in support of this important cause.

If you would like to join Team MIAS for the event, please sign up using the link below.  Team members set their own goals and walk for a 1 or 2 hour timeframe during the event.  We are also scheduling a team lunch prior to the event so everyone has the chance to meet our team members and to participate in other aspects of the event.  We would love to have you on the MIAS Team and participate in whatever capacity works best for you individually.

AMIM 122- Inland Marine Insurance

Topics: This class will help registrants prepare for the AMIM exam. Registrants must order and pay separately for study material from www.aicpcu.org or call 1-800-644-2101

 

Location: 2101 Fourth Avenue, 12th Floor, Crum & Forster Conference Room

 

Time/Dates: Every Wednesday for 15 weeks, starting February 1st, 2017. Class times to be 9:00 to 10:30am. A couple classes may be changed to Tuesday or Thursday – TBD.

 

Credits: 21 credits for the entire series – no partial credit is available; all classes must be attended in order to receive credit.
