Marine Insurance Association of Seattle Scholarship Program - Deadline January 12th!

It is that time of year again where we are searching for deserving individuals to be the recipients of the Annual Marine Insurance Association of Seattle Scholarships. The Scholarship Committee of MIAS is now accepting applications.

Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded on Thursday, January 18, 2024. A presentation and ceremony to the MIAS Membership will be held on Thursday, January 25th.

Requirements in Order to Qualify:

  1. Applicant must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.

  2. Applicant must be a full-time student.

Submission Process:

  1. Completed application

  2. Two (2) letters of recommendation (one personal and one professional)

  3. Copy of last grade transcript or G.E.D. certificate

The deadline to receive completed applications will be NO LATER than close of business on Friday, January 12th, 2024.

2023 MIAS Annual Banquet

After two years hiatus due to the pandemic, we are excited to announce that the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle's Annual Banquet is back!

We look forward to gathering again to celebrate our members and the beginning of our 112th year serving the Marine Insurance Industry in the Seattle and surrounding areas.

Cocktail hour starts at 5:30 pm sharp Dinner starts at 7:00 pm.

Annual Dessert Dash

Desserts - Cakes, Pastries, and More

It's that time again for the ANNUAL DESSERT DASH at this year's Annual Golf & Bowling Banquet on Monday, June 6, 2022!

We need at least 10 volunteers to make or buy a dessert that will serve 8 – 10 people.

Desserts will be “auctioned” off at the banquet following the MIAS Golf & Bowling event. 100% of the funds raised from the Dessert Dash directly support the MIAS Annual Scholarship Fund.

The generous donations received in past years have contributed over $2,000 toward the Scholarship Fund allowing three scholarships to be presented at the time of the MIAS Annual Banquet.

How the Dessert Dash Works:

  1. Each table will be numbered and will have an envelope to record and collect donations.

  2. Each guest at the table guest writes in their name and the amount they would like to donate. Checks can be made payable to the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle. Credit Card forms will also be available. Donation receipts will be provided.

  3. Total the amounts donated and place donations in the envelope provided for the table.

  4. Designate a person from your table to be the “Dessert Dasher”!

  5. The tables will then be called in order from the highest total amount donated.

  6. When your table number is called, dash to the dessert table and choose the dessert of your choice!
