Scholarship

It is that time of year again where we are searching for deserving individuals to be the recipients of the Annual Marine Insurance Association Scholarships. The Board members Marine Insurance Association of Seattle has decided to make a change to the scholarship awards this year. In an effort to make the scholarships more meaningful there will be two scholarships awarded in the amount of $4,500.

The requirements are as follows:

Eligibility

Any student who is a child, step-child, adopted child, niece, nephew, grandchild or sibling, of a person employed by one of the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle member companies who is attending or planning to attend a school of higher education. Preference will be given to those intending to study marine and/or insurance related fields.

1. Applicant must have a grade point of 2.5 or better

2. Applicant must be a full time student

Requirements

1. Completed application

2. Two (2) letters of recommendation (one personal and one professional)

3. Copy of last grade transcript or G.E.D. certificate

The Marine Insurance Association of Seattle supports the Maritime Community through charitable donations. Requests are submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration. If you would like to suggest a charitable donation contact a current MIAS Board member.
